La historia de Regilio va mucho más allá de su carrera como boxeador profesional.
Nacido en Surinam (antigua colonia holandesa), emigró de joven a Holanda, pasando a formar parte de esa generación dorada de atletas holandeses con sangre surinamesa. Por nombrar algunos: Edgar Davids, Patrick Kluivert y Clarence Seedorf.
No fue fácil para él convertirse en boxeador profesional, pero cuando decidió hacerlo, nada ni nadie lo detuvo 🥊.
Los Juegos Olímpicos de 1988 en Seúl, y la gran victoria ante Kelcie Banks (la favorita a ganar la medalla de oro) le abrieron las puertas a las grandes luces del Madison Square Garden, el resto es historia.
Además de los grandes trofeos de la vitrina, Regi es un gran hombre. Siempre con una sonrisa en la cara, y un entusiasmo contagioso por todo lo que hace.
Agradecido por la vida, por la familia, los amigos… fue un clic instantáneo con Yarim Delpino para decir sí al proyecto de Original Empire.
